our state project 2023-2024

State President Electra Fire
Senior State President Mrs. Lezlee Alexander
State Theme: Be the One to Create A Brighter Future
A.S.C.A.R. is partnering with Hope & A Future
Hope & A Future supports Arizona foster children. Their mission serves abused and neglected children in the Arizona foster care system by helping them reach their potential and achieve their dreams. In 2004, Hope & A Future, an Arizona 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was formed to continue affecting the lives of foster children who have grown beyond the age limits of other organizations.
Arizona C.A.R. will provide programs and offer opportunities to participate in collection drives for items for Hope & A Future.
When donating directly to Hope & A Future, please forward a copy of your receipt so that your donation may be added to the State Project total funds. Learn more about the Arizona Foster Care Tax Credit opportunity.
We are collecting Starfish Stories to share in our newsletter and social media to highlight ways we can all Be the One to Create A Brighter Future. If you'd care to share your own adoption or foster program story, ways you made a difference to someone (Random Acts of Kindness), or how someone made a difference touching your life, we would be honored to celebrate your story. You can send your story to us at ascarsrpres@gmail.com - note Starfish Story!

OUR national project 2023-2024

National President Victoria Smith
Senior National President Mrs. Diana Decker Brokaw
Theme: Cultivating Tomorrow's Leaders
This project will partner with the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, IL to restore the First Report of the US Department of Agriculture and a Leather Portfolio with AL initials that may have carried this document, the Gettysburg Address, the 13th Amendment, and the Emancipation Proclamation.
The theme was chosen to highlight that C.A.R. develops, grows, and trains tomorrow's leaders with a nod toward America's development being tied to its rich agricultural heritage. From our National President - "...success of young people is built upon showing initiative, as well help from others to prepare, plant, nurture, and weed the seeds’ growth so that they may develop into the leaders they are destined to be. I am confident that with the help of DAR, and other organizations, C.A.R. will continue 'Cultivating Tomorrow’s Leaders'."
Service will be highlighted in this project with a goal of 30,000 volunteer hours in any capacity but especially related to agriculture: plant wildflowers in parks, donate food to pantries, work in a community garden, host meals for veterans, volunteer in a soup kitchen, put together meals for active military, and create bagged lunches for food insecure children are just a few ideas. Funds will be raised to create grants for organizations that societies will apply for to support their special organizations.
Members and Seniors - log in to the National website (www.nscar.org), hover over National Program & Project, click the drop-down Log Volunteer Hours to log individual or group hours.
