Coronado society - sierra vista
Coronado Society was named after Francisco Vazquez de Coronado, who was appointed by the governor of Mexico City as the commander of an expedition to find a city of great wealth named Cibola. Coronado led a party along the San Pedro River, through the Sulfur Springs Valley in Cochise County. The Coronado National Forest is in Southeastern Arizona, and the Coronado National Memorial was established in 1952.
The Coronado Society in Sierra Vista was first established in 1959 originally and reorganized in 1988 and 2007 . Our members take pride in learning about our nation's history while participating in community activities and performing service projects to support the local area, and the State and National Projects.
